In 2018, the Mulder Law or Gag Law posed a serious threat to freedom of expression. This law prohibited the State from advertising through private media, preventing citizens from finding out about topics such as a procedure or a vaccination campaign, or the world from seeing a PromPerú campaign.
To draw attention to this serious issue, we created a line of imaginary commercial products for the newspaper La República under the name "El Estado". Through these "products," the "Peruvian State" could continue to communicate issues such as gender-based violence, healthcare shortages, insecurity, etc.
The campaign resulted in the repeal of the Mulder Law.
